Founded in April 2004, GIO Optoelectronics is a professional optoelectronic technology company headquartered in the Tree Valley Park, Tainan, Taiwan. Our core business areas include:

Flexible Substrate Lamination

Collaborating with Japanese film manufacturers, we develop lamination techniques that attach flexible films to glass carriers, providing the necessary rigidity and flatness compatible with TFT and semiconductor processes. Post-processing, the films can be removed to serve in applications like e-paper, flexible displays (OLED/LED), and flexible sensors. We offer various sizes of flexible substrates compatible with G2.5 to G6 production lines, including semiconductor wafers and irregularly shaped products.

COB Die Bonding Services

Compared to traditional SMD packaging, our Chip-On-Board (COB) die bonding offers superior placement accuracy, with deviations as low as ±15μm. We provide services encompassing Pick & Place die bonding and have developed mass transfer die bonding processes. These methods offer better flatness and consistency, making them suitable for high-resolution flexible and rigid displays, including micro LED applications, achieving thinner profiles and cost savings.

Transparent Displays

GIO’s MiniLED Transparent Display has earned prestigious recognition, winning the Advanced Display Technology Award (SDIA Award) from Taiwan’s Industrial Development Administration for two consecutive years, as well as the Bronze Award at the 2022 TIE Taiwan Innovation Technology Expo.

In 2023, GIO integrated AI technology into real-world deployment at FamiSuper convenience stores, showcasing the synergy of transparent displays and intelligent retail solutions.

In 2024, GIO developed the Anytime Talk Translator, an AI-powered bidirectional transparent translation device, which received international coverage by Japan’s NHK and was successfully implemented at IHG Crowne Plaza Hotels. By combining next-generation display technology with AI translation capabilities, We GIO continues to expand its footprint in smart retail and global markets. The product has obtained key international certifications, including VCCI, CB, and HDMI, ensuring compliance with global safety and electromagnetic standards.
